Situated just 12km east of Malaga, Rincon de la Victoria is a convenient base for those who work in the city but prefer sea breezes and beaches, and the relative tranquillity of an overgrown fishing village. The town retains a laid-back atmosphere, yet offers tourists and residents alike an ever-wider choice of places to dine-out or just enjoy the local tapas. Rincon de la Victoria's greatest asset must be its lively promenade and beach. From the westernmost cliff top the view sweeps down the length of the sandy beach, past a selection of blue and white fishing boats, reasonably priced chiringuitos, palm trees and thatched sunshades shading sun beds.
